History:

Valencia CF will welcome Ajax on Wednesday the 2nd of October at 9 pm. Celades’ side will look to pick up back-to-back wins following their 0-1 win at Stamford Bridge on the opening day. Ajax also collected a win against LOSC on the opening day. Valencia CF and Ajax have crossed paths twice in the Champions League in the second Group Stage in the 2002-03 season. Zlatan Ibrahimovic gave Ajax a late breakthrough in the 88th minute but Miguel Ángel Angulo scored a last-gasp equaliser.

Back in Amsterdam, Kily González gave Valencia CF the lead from twelve yards out but Petri Pasanen's cancelled it out in the 57th minute and Valencia CF were forced to settle for a draw as both sides bowed out of the group.

Celades: “Ajax had an incredible season last time out and they are still a very good outfit, despite having lost De Jong and De Ligt. They have a very definite style of play and it will be a very difficult game against a world-class team. The main thing is that we have to produce an almost perfect game to beat them."
